Men's Soccer Preview

Tonight's men's soccer game should be an exciting one. The Stags will be looking to avenge last season's disappointing 2-0 loss to Hartwick at Hartwick. The rivalry between these two schools has been growing, as Head Coach Carl Rees attended and coached at Hartwick.

The Stags will look to continue their dominance at home, where they have not lost this season and will also look to extend their shutout streak to four games. They have not allowed a goal since the 18 minute mark of the first half against Boston College in their only loss of the year.

Fairfield is continuing to try and climb back into the NSCAA Top 25, after dropping out two weeks ago following the BC loss. The Stags did reclaim the top spot in the North Atlantic poll, taking back the spot from Loyola College, who lost two games this past week.

The Stags will need strong defense from the three key backs, Tom Skara '08, Tom Clements '09 and Jack Cleverly '11 in front of goalkeeper Jon Paul Francini '08 who ranks in the top 20 in goals against in the country.

Check the Mirror Sports Blog for live game coverage, as long as the wireless at Lessing Field allows.
